Chad A. Hartwick, 48, of Springfield, died at 7:32 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at his home.
Chad was born March 18, 1966, the son of Francis and Sophia Jayne Price Hartwick.
Chad attended Southeast High School and studied at MTI in the technical welding program. He most recently owned and operated Capital City Drywall. He was previously employed with Schneider International, Overland, and Crouse Carthage Company. Chad enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, spending time with his son and dog, sketching, drawing, and reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rita Daulton.
He is survived by his son, Nicholas J. Hartwick of Springfield; his Pug dog, Cubbie; brother, Christopher (wife, Tonia) Hartwick of Jacksonville; step-mother, Evelyn Hartwick of Beardstown; step-brothers, Christopher (wife, Sherri) Meadows of Quincy, Lance Meadows of Normal, and Damon (Tamara) Meadows of Marshalltown, IA; and several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation was accorded by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.
Graveside ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Oak Hill Cemetery, 4688 Old Route 36.
Nicholas will host a Celebration of Life from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the VFW, 2349 Stockyard Rd., Springfield.
