Sharon L. Dishon, 70, of Springfield, passed away at 10:40 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at her residence.
Sharon was born July 25, 1944 in Springfield, the daughter of Wayne and Thelma Henderson Dishon. She married Gene Smith and they later divorced. He preceded her in death in 2013.
Sharon was a graduate of Lanphier High School in Springfield.
She was also preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her son, Mark (wife, Kathy) Smith of Rochester; mother, Thelma Henderson Furrow of Springfield; grandson, Collin Smith of Springfield; and sister, Linda (husband, Roger) DeHart of Chatham.
Cremation will be accorded by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.
Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Medical Center Foundation, 701 North First Street, Springfield, IL 62702-9987.

I still can't believe Sharon was taken from us. Sharon and I used to be so close when I was living in Springfield, Illinois until I moved to Boston, Massachusetts. Hopefully she is at peace now with her mother, grandparents.

Sharon ,was my big sister who I always looked up to ,she always knew the latest fashions & hairdos & loved beautiful things for her home !Sharon was a very talented &artistic person ,also made the best caramels ever !! I know you are resting at peace & I will miss you forever and a day !! Mom and I will miss you forever <3><3>

Sharon and I were very closed for years until we became distant over a disagreement. She will be missed but now I hope she will find peace and realize that we are family and know she had a special place in our heart.
