Hi mom. Hard to believe it's been 5yrs today. Still tell you hi talk to you everyday, but you know that. The month of October is still a rough month for us. We just hold on and wait for it to pass. The boys are going through a rough time. If you could check in on them and give them your guidance, that would be great. The girls are all doing great. So happy of all them. Wish you were here to share their happiness. As for me, I retired. Wanted to enjoy life. It's an adjustment but I'll get there. I love and miss you so much. Mort

Wow mom, 5yrs tomorrow (21st) you left this world. Still tell you good morning everyday, but I guess you know that. October is still a very rough month for this family. So much going on with the men. Any guidance you can send their way is needed. The girls are doing great. As for me, I retired. Wanted to enjoy life like you did. Still a learning curve, but I'll figure it out. I love you and miss you, Mom

Hello Mom. This year, though my raw sadness is still there, I put those feelings aside and decided to celebrate your life. I honored you the way you would want me to. I felt we had a nice talk when I came by Camp Butler. I also, went by to see Carol and left flowers. Love and miss you, Mom.

Love forever

Mom, I'm a little stronger now so I can write and tell you how much I love and miss you every day. It's those constant little day to day things in life that have been the hardest. No matter how hard this is, I know my tears will dry and memories of you will be of pure joy and laughter. You knew I loved you and I pray you know that I have always admired you and how you lead life your way. I'm a very lucky girl to have had an independent yet unselfish woman to call my mom and mentor. Always in my heart.

Joan was a wonderful person, caring and loving and one of a kind. I'm fortunate and privileged to have Joan as a friend. Joan always made me feel welcome and I remember her big smiles and wonderful laugh. Mary Jo, my thoughts and prayers are with you and family. Love you Vicki

To Mary Jo and her family,
Mary Jo, please accept my deepest sympathies during this most difficult time. Three months ago I walked the very same path you folks are now upon... I hope and pray the pain of your loss will be replaced by all the loving memories shared throughout the years. My Dad is also at Camp Butler, a very beautiful and richly historic place. During the service, a very wise uncle told me, "We hurt, we cry, we remember... we heal, we smile, we laugh.. this takes time, but we get there". This world needs your smile laugh and wit... you will get there... in your own time.

Grandma you are the one who held us together and guided us on what needed to be done. You always said what was on your mind without holding back. We laughed, cried, yelled but all out of love. Getting my butt chewed out then being told not to forget my brownie & eat something just seemed odd to others but I knew your love. I will keep my promise to you and make sure mom is okay & watch out for my children as you would have. I love you so much grandma & will think of you every day. Semper Fidelis Grandma! You will never be forgotten & will live on through your grandchildren until the end of time for there is ONLY one Joan Boerio and she left one heck of a stamp on this world!
