Estella Meister, 84, of Springfield, died at 3:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center.
Estella was born March 11, 1930 in Mt. Pulaski, the daughter of Clarence A. and Dorothy G. Holmes Dains.
Estella was a graduate of Elkhart High School and worked as a beautician for 11 years, worked in retail for 19 years, and worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois for 24 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Springfield and Flower City Chapter #152 of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Clarence, Thomas and David Dains; one sister, Dorothy A. Dains; and one daughter, Terry S. Szoke.
She is survived by one son, Morris (wife, Susan) Meister of Springfield; one daughter, Dana Scheller (companion, Steven Schmidt) of Springfield; four grandchildren, Jacob Haseley, Courtney Scheller, Katherine (husband, Jerry) Cheng, and Samuel (wife, Melissa) Meister; four great-grandchildren, Haley Scheller, Madelyn Finch, Abigail Finch, and Julia Cheng; one sister, Susan Hylton of Mt. Pulaski; one son-in-law, Joe Szoke of Lincoln; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Cremation was accorded by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.
