Michael (Myke) Andrew Turpin, 23, of Springfield, went to be with God at 4:27 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013 in the company of his family.

Myke was born September 9, 1990 in Springfield, the son of Robert and Vickie Turpin.

Myke attended grade school at North Elementary School in Taylorville, IL. He attended the first two years of high school at Taylorville High School and graduated from Riverton High School in 2009. He was a self-proclaimed professional videogamer. Despite his many challenges with his battle of muscular dystrophy, he was very upbeat and quite the joker. He always had his way of brightening up the room and was a master at bringing a smile to the face of everyone around him.

He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Bob and Karin Turpin.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Vickie Turpin of Springfield; two brothers, Jimmy Turpin of Riverton and Daniel Turpin of Springfield; two sisters, Kaitie (Logan) French of 29 Palms, CA and Tiffany Turpin of Springfield; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Muscular Dystrophy Association, 115 Neil St., Suite 100, Champaign, IL 61820.

Cremation was accorded by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.
