Wanda L. Vaughan, 80, of Springfield, passed away at 7:05 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2015 at St. John's Hospice.
Wanda was born October 2, 1935 in Coles, IL, the daughter of William C. and Edith E. Wellbaum Rowland. She married Bobby Vaughan on February 9, 1957.
Wanda graduated from Sullivan High School. Wanda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed traveling, and crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six siblings, Norma Sarver, Bill Rowland, Donna Lampe, Betty Hughes, Martha McNulty, and Linda Gibbons.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Vaughan of Springfield; two daughters, Sheri Vaughan and Shelley Vaughan both of Springfield; grandchild, Jacob; four siblings, twin sister and best-friend, Wilma Alexander of Wesley Chapel, FL, James Rowland of Mattoon, Bob Rowland of Colorado Springs, CO, and Eileen Harrington of Sullivan; several nieces and nephews; and her granddogs, Bijou and Marley.
Cremation will be accorded by Lincoln Land Cremation Society Center prior to ceremonies. The family will host a memorial ceremony at a later date for family and close friends.
